I hate Substance Painter . Need to paint seamlessly across multiple unique and tillable materials having different from factor . Like a tilable asphalt 2kx2k , a few narrow stripes 64x2k painted lines, and roadside edges both V tilable following the base mesh flow and a local unique cut in a complex crossroad . Plus a couple shared macro layers , also tilable and unique using their own UVs . Neither of those using UDIMs , not even perfectly same texel size ( tileable ones are slightly stretched ).
As far as I know all that impossible in substance Painter . Someone correct me if I am wrong please . I recall 3dcoat could do it , separately for base materials and macro/ splats . I have v4.9 but stopped to update it since never used their sculpting or retopo tools and texture painting seem quite forgotten and gave me its own sort of pain in my a....
Want to try a comeback . Anything new there? Any other soft that doesn't have that typical Painter limitations or turns into baking /setup/ export nightmare ?
