Unfortunately this Electric Monk had developed a fault, and had started to believe all kinds of things,
more or less at random. It was even beginning to believe things they'd have difficulty believing in Salt Lake City.

The character is a remake of an existing version.

The second version.

I found the base to be too heavy for a monk, plus building on the surface of the figure adds a lot of volume. I am using the character to get to know kitbashing but also testing plugins for blender. So far I have used Hops, Boxcutter, Decal Machin3, Mesh Machin3 and KitOps also the Ultraborg library from Bulgarov.

I have a real bin of reference, here is some of it:

I didn't really think about it, but if kitbashing doesn't conform to the spirit of the Brawl then feel free to move the thread to the standard wip section.

Cool start! I wonder, how did this monk become electric? Is it a robot with a human skin? If he does fight, how? It would be cool if he has random belief/state-switches throughout a fight, and figure and style morph somewhat to reflect that. Looking forward to see where it goes

Good questions Fabi_G. I think he was manufactured rather than 'became'. Web searches depict the character as everything from human looking, to the dalek salt and pepper shaker seen in Dr Who. Research on the character's appearance stops at his description as a 'belief appliance'. How I would justify the people bits would be an attempt by the manufacturers to make the product more user friendly. Arms and legs are overtly mechanical to withstand the physical perils of righteousness.

He has a staff and is programmed with most utilitarian fighting styles, intended for client protection, as belief systems have a nasty habit of landing one in hot water.

Man, you're full throttle really lovely work whilst at the other end of the spectrum, I'm still faffing about project concept ref - scope - narrative - tech parameters yaddayadda... and yet to post an update, too. Oh well looks as though I'll be taking hefty advantage of the 21wk timeframe

Ha ha thanx sacboi! Just to remind you guys, this is a kit bash so I am only placing and deforming stuff. Vitaly's kit is pretty amazing. Super modeling and design at mid poly level, meaning you can throw quite a bit of stuff on before the program slows down, Plus each component is fairly easy to edit.

Looking forward to seeing yr vehicle take shape. The idea is super! I think we are going to have fun, like being in a gang of like minded villains  .

Ah, yeah i was going to ask if this was modkit combo and since base meshes are fine so is this since you still have to unwrap and texture it and such. 

(for a possible lurker wondering if they can, if it comes up.)

Technically, It is working for you and looks neatly and thoughtfully (functionally) put together so you are still doing it. 

(i bet "evil" morty is the hidden "best morty" so ? not villain, maybe we will have to see in the show and pst, if you watch it season 8 dropping now, seems to be better than a few of the other seasons, latest episode was a banger for me, action packed and referenced packed for the theme.)

Hi iam717. Thanks for your comment. You can see the parts that have been modeled by me as they are way less detailed on purpose. Nobody likes intense detail over the whole model. The kitbash parts have no uvs and the kitops parts have a kind of basic set of uvs, so they are flattened and have seams but also overlaps, That maybe due to blender's vanilla uv editor, I dunno. The thing is all parts have material ID's so I should be able to work with them in marmoset later on.

Hi Fabi_G thanks for yr comment. Yes I will break up the lowpoly aiming for a clean bake. That is gonna be LOTS of fun.
