Or like Substance Painter  but  working in 2d space  with pixel snap precision .    Something simple like 2x2 ?   Vector style maybe  including vector curves to scatter  small things along.   With  color range selection ?

Something for quickly compositing  materials from already existing pieces , not even any 3d preview is necessary  but doing it old  2d style with pixel snap and  2d vector style tools?      With slice export  options?

Both Painter and Designer are monstrously  inconvenient for such kind of tasks IMO.  Neither Sampler  while it does have nice working content aware now .

Quick look after learning couple months back about krita:(free / afaik)
things have changed a bit since then and it has separate "filter options within the layer options", to single out R,G,B atm not at the pc with krita on it but yeah you'll get what i mean and video shows you also.
tbh i did this really quick so hopefully something useful for you here if nothing else.

Thanks iam717    probably a time for one more closer look  for Krita.   Need something I could spend seconds for  simple  like 2x2 tasks  instead of puzzles of  Adobe products  when you need a while to figure out  how  the heck did you do it month ago  and what slider adjusted what.

Yeah, would like to hear if it worked out, hopefully Krita creator/s get $ to stay motivated, its really awesome of them to let it out for free. (scarily for now anyway..)
If you find anything or if anyone comes chime in and suggest anything, i think it would help the rest of us also, if we ever need such tasks fulfilled.
