Sentenza High Poly Bust

Hi everyone! I'm new to Polycount, and I joined so that I can find and learn from fellow 3D artists. I usually just lurk in different forums and communities but this new year I decided to actively seek feedback so I can improve my skills. A little background of me, I've been a generalist for years now, doing all sorts of 3D work and it was only last year when I decided to pursue making 3D stylized characters.

My goals for this piece are:
  1. Work with a mentor to finish a portfolio piece that is not client work
  2. Create an appealing stylized character sculpt that shows the kind of characters I enjoy making
  3. Find the challenges I've faced in making it and practice to improve on it before jumping to my next piece

Here's my recent finished character sculpt from the concept art of Oscar J Vargas.

Some challenges I've encountered in making this piece:

  1. My facial anatomy knowledge can still be improved especially the landmarks and proportions. Despite it being a stylized concept art, it's still rooted in human anatomy.
  2. Because of my current anatomy knowledge, I'm still unsure of the shapes I was making on the different parts of the face (e.g. cheeks) so sculpting clean shapes is also something I want to improve.

There are also some things I want to try for my next piece such as:
  1. Doing hand-painted or stylized PBR textures
  2. Making a game-ready model
  3. Hair cards
  4. Rendering in a real-time engine such as Marmoset / Unreal

Feedback are most welcome! And if you also have advice on what else I could be focusing next, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for viewing :)

Not an expert on anatomy but I think your sculpt looks absolutely great. Maybe you should clean the nose a bit. It looks lumpy at the end.
First pic  is polypaint in zbrush right? Dont ruin a great model with this mediocre render.

I'm observing some dark spots in some of the deep parts of the nose, too. Will take note of that in future renders.
Yeah it's polypaint and zbrush render for this piece. I was thinking of retopologizing and putting in more detailed textures but I thought I'd apply it in my next piece. Thanks for the feedback!
