Hi everyone ! It's my first time here and I think it's the best place to share and have some critiques about my work.
I just finished a project and even if I'm still learning, I feel I need some feedbacks and what I can do to improve in rendering since it's one of my weakness.
The goal was to create a character that would be displayed in Overwatch, with a bright and colorful palette.
The next big step is to make a 3D version of it !
For some lore: Raiji is a samurai who works hard to protect the emperor and his family. His loyalty is unmatched.
He'll do everything to protect his loved ones, especially the
emperor's daughter. She's like a daughter to him, and he would never
hurt her. Never.

Have a nice day y'all!
I have some inputs categorized.
Presentation: 8/10
Your approach of creating a rendered front, flat back, and a face is more than enough for a 3D artist to determine what they're looking at to produce.
If you're showcasing a character for gameplay. Facial expressions isn't that relevant. Usually, these are for cinematics. Might as well create another set of illustration relevant to gameplay.
Design Reliability: 5/10
First, we need to define the intent of the design. You mentioned it's Overwatch.
The second image doesn't say much how you're able to push a design to it's maximum potential. It only shows your ability to change skins or costumes with the same pose. You should have shown different silhouette direction. For example, different build of a character can have an impact on play-style eg tank, support, dps. Overwatch has put great emphasis on character's readability on screen since it's a fast-phased game. Silhouette exploration will surely be valuable to gameplay team.
Character story doesn't necessarily factor much in terms of significance to gameplay. When proposing a character, game directors are more keen to know how the character moves, how they read on screen. Hence, changing costumes doesn't tell much about gameplay nor does it suggests more value about why would you want to play the character.
- I suggest, show at least 3 different silhouette iteration base on play-style.
- illustrate in different about-to poses since Overwatch is an action-packed game. Don't just have them stand-up. It doesn't tell much about their significance as a playable character. Show how the character look like when using their weapons.
Hope these are valuable inputs. Kudos and love to stay tuned with this thread!
KEEP AT IT, MAN!!!
