I want to create a circular tube 6' high and 1" thick. In Blender I have set my units to Imperial and inches. I created a circle curve - set the x dimension (front view) to 72". I reset the scale to 1 after sizing the curve circle. To add the thickness I went to Data Tab > Geomerty > Bevel and added 1". This is does not give me the result I need. The thickness is 4 times larger that it should be. What am I doing wrong? I just want the correct proportions for the tube.

Thanks
CO

No you didn't.. the scale is 3.00 so the depth bevel add 2 times (for both side ) 1'' scaled by 3 = 6'' to the initial 72'' = 78''

Hey thanks for the reply. I don't understand tho. I had reset the scale - I probably resized at some point. I've uploaded a video of my process. Maybe you can tell where I'm going wrong. One difference I see in your image is that the Z dimension is 2" - if I set mine it completely collapses the circle.

    This is front view, btw.
    Thank you!

Hi! Once you applied the circles' scale, make sure the points' mean radius in edit-mode is 1 (might be 3 in your case):

edit: using "Apply Scale to Deltas" seems to apply scale while keeping a mean radius of 1. But I don't know what else "Apply Scale to Deltas" does, so best test/read up in the documentation :)

Right - re-setting the mean radius to 1 did work. I didn't know that was necessary I guess. I thought re-setting scale in object would take care of all scale issues. Thanks for the help! :)
