Maya xGen hair doesn't follow guides
Hello,
I have a frustrating problem with maya, where the hair I shape using guides doesn't seem to care about the guides.
The hair barely cares about the shape or the length of the guides, just doing it's own thing. Pictures below for reference.

No fucking idea why this happens. I understand differences in guides will affect the hair, but when there's about 40 guides, it really should understand better.
So, am I doing something wrong or is Maya just weird? I genuinely want to know.
