I'm excited to show you "Sacrifice". This is my latest personal project, created during my environment art mentorship with Alex Beddows & Skill Tree. The environment was inspired by the concept art files created by Ryan Phair.
The main goal of creating this piece was to get out of my comfort zone, I wanted to go a little bit further quality-wise and also to improve my sculpting skills. Through the mentorship, Alex has been patiently providing feedback, and reviewing my work during the different phases of the project.
We followed a Nanite workflow, relying on a modular asset pack and a combination of tiling materials and RGB masks. I used Zbrush for the high polys, Substance Painter for the baking and mask creation, and Substance Designer for the tiling materials. It was all assembled in Unreal Engine 5.2.
Vegetation and candles come from Megascans and a free pack I had in my library.
