hey guys im having issue with maya, i had to deattached the eye socket and mirror it, then attach it again with merge vertices tool, but in this side im getting this pinching out of nowhere, the vertex are all merged and there are no lamina faces, not sure what is happening here (the pinch appears only on smooth shaded view)

For mirroring I recommend malcoms tools here: malcolm341 (gumroad.com)
there is a suite of mirroring tools which take out a lot of this jankiness and speed things up
working with mirrored instance seems generally smoother and less buggy compared to symmetry
If you worked on the geometry before reattaching it, you might also have an extra vertex in those points
