Critique - wooden boat

Hello everyone! I need your critique and advice regarding my portfolio, specifically my latest work - a boat. I've already received feedback, but not on this platform, and I was told that my work is crap. I can't say I enjoyed hearing that, but I guess there's no other way to grow and look at my work from a different perspective :D Right now, I'm gathering feedback to grow as a specialist. Feel free to speak your mind, but I'd like to hear specifics.

upd: I want to become an environment artist. What do they pay attention to when selecting candidates for this position?

Hi Hermitage. The boat is an odd form for me. I don't like the square bottom view and side view.  There are boats like that however. The ore locks look teeny. The wood texture looks projected, when actually the planks are bent to fit the form. The wood material looks like it could be scaled down a bit and the keel bead (wood piece in the hull centre) has the wood grain running the wrong way. Should be rotated 90 degrees. The scratches on the white paint of the hull look really even and fake. I think the model would look ok in a scene, but just dry like this it could be better.

Thank you for the feedback. I'll remember the comments and try to be more attentive )

    Hiyah,
Did you look into how boats are made?
cause that might help, so when you pick a subject try to learn all you can before hand, this is something i didn't learn at my start but it helps 100%.

search terms: blueprints/modelsheets + (other terms i.d.k.) are basically guides on how the topic in question is achieved, sometimes you get lucky.

then check out some videos: https://search.brave.com/videos?q=how are real wooden boats made for any "master guidance" might turn up some useful info. ,At the same time you end up learning how to do it i.r.l. which helps doubly.

Lastly lots and lots of references even if you could even find some HQ actual damage photo's maybe for the looks you are after and make some alpha damage maps might increase interest and quality in your final, product, piece.

Things i wish i learned at the start.  All the best with it, look forward to updates, that is all i got.
Oh and you just need to put that (link)extra (link)loving into it, put these on and get busy.

Oh, thank you for the feedback, there are indeed some glaring mistakes on my part. I'll be more careful in the future.

upd: I made the boat from rdr2 specifically omitting some details, but not the ones that turned out to be so obvious, it wasn't intentional C:
