Jelly/ Slime / Goo Material help

I have been wanting to do something with this for a while now. I like the idea of the Jellybots by Nicholas Kole (https://www.nicholaskole.art/jellybots)

So I have some test meshes and started the models and am looking for some help with the Material setup for the Jell in Unreal. I want to make a material that can show things inside like a person, bubbles and tech and also cast a shadow.  I can get one or the other but having a hard time making a nice in-between

I think something with a camera-based transparency would work but I don't know how to have it not cut through the mesh. Can anyone recommend a tutorial or some insight on a material setup?
