Hello guys first time posting, looking for some feedback to improve my lowpoly game because I always get anxiety attacks seeing my mesh rising in tris when I use cylindrical shapes. Im currently working on this MP5 and I was wondering if there is room to improve my lowpoly mesh. I heard that aslong it supports the sillouette its okay to have more polies but how much is to much if we speak about cylindrical objects ?
The gun has without attachements 20k tris and the 2 pictures without wireframe are the highpoly version of the gun.
All feedback is welcome and thank you for your time.
I don't think you can really tell till its baked. Just some general stuff: long thin polys dont bake well. You should keep polys as square as possible. Before you bake everything should be in one smooth group. Some of your bevels are so tiny they look like sharp edges.

Hi man, thank you for the tipps and feedback I will definitely come back after I backed the gun. One question tho if u find time, can u may point out which bevels u are particular concerned about ?
would it really be neccessary to do a high res version of this, maybe just a bevel modifier? I mean the the big curve shapes have already been modelled and small bevels could be done with the modifier
Hello guys its me again, wanna show you my progress and ask you for your feedback. The baking stage went well and im heading out to polish my portfolio piece. I feel like my texturing and rendering lacks something and I dont know how I should further improve this model. Do u guys have by chance any solid criticism? I would really appreciate your feedback. And thank you for your time
Hi guys I just finished the project and posted it on artstation if you still are open to point out any wrong doing or critizism im open for that. Have a great day https://www.artstation.com/popelkralle
