Selection created by Magic Wand Tool in pohotoshop is distorted as shown in the image

I am currently working on 3d texturing, creating masks from UVs and drawing textures for each UV.

I am trying to create a mask from the UVs and draw a texture for each UV, but for some reason the selection is distorted. I have never had this happen before. I have attached a screenshot of the distorted selection and the tool settings.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I restarted the app to try and it worked.

I honestly don't know what is causing this and I am having trouble because when the same symptoms appear again, my work stops.

If anyone knows the cause and how to fix it, please let me know.

Change the Tolerance to a number higher than 1.
