Male Base Mesh Feedback

Hey Guys,
this is my first post on here so hello to all of you.

I've been working on this generic Male for a bit and was looking for some feedback. I'm a student and don't have that much experience with Characters yet and basically none with a realistic look since i've been doing mostly stylized stuff till now.
Im quite happy about the proportions and anatomy but there's always room to improve.

Also im not sure on when to move on to the next level of detail since it's kind of an commitment and i want to be sure that all the primary shapes are right. Plus i don't really know how to even go about detailing the character.

Hope some of you all have some tips or resources on how to improve
Cheers

good start, keep at it. Personally I'd say the back, butt, and belly could use more work to bring everything up to the same level of detail, and the pecs have too much of an inflated look to them.

Bodies just take a lot of hours and a lot of work to get right. Maybe pick up a copy of Anatomy for Sculptors or something similar, and just go part-by-part adding in more and more work, and refining and building upon what you have. I've been doing something similar over on my sketchbook.

For surface detail, there are lots of free and paid brushes you can get online, artstation has quite a few, gumroad, etc. You can even get good results by choosing from the prepackaged alpha maps and applying them to your brushes and playing around with brush and stroke settings.
