Curious if anyone has seen anything that does a scene to scene comparison for simple smooth viewport navigation between Maya | Blender | Max, etc? Curious if Blender can handle more geo/objects than Maya.
There was a long running thread here or on blenderartists with that kind of comparison maybe two years ago. From what I recall Max was way ahead for viewing, import/export, editing of high polycount meshes and handling of largest number of objects in scene with Maya lagging well behind in most/all categories.
Blender (pre-geometry-nodes releases)...uhh... acted more like the rearguard for the field of candidates. The whole thread was about improving Blender performance which had a lot of catching up to do to even match Maya.
Depends a lot on how you organize your scene. If need a giant environment use a USD workflow and you are good to go in any DCC that support USD data in the Viewport.
