Color Grading Problem in After Effects

Hi,
I'm having problems with my new pipeline from Blender to After Effects. It seems like there's some issue with the settings in After Effects that makes my renders having only like 8-bit color space instead of 16- or 32-bits. I don't know, this is new to me. In Blender it looks good. But for some reason it doesn't interpret the format correct in After Effects.

In my previous pipeline I used to PNG sequences. But Blender didn't let med render out passes in PNG, only one combined PNG per frame. So, I made it into OpenEXR MultiLayer instead — the animation works fine with all the passes. Also, all information should still be intact with the EXR's, right? Because EXR still got 32-bit color space. Otherwise I've got a whole lot of re-rendering to do!

Thanks in advance for any answers!
I don't know where else to ask.

Did you render directly out to EXR?

If you rendered to PNG then converted those to EXR, then likely it needs to be re-rendered.

Also, half float should be plenty for this. Full float is way overkill, unless you’re doing major color editing.
