how did you make the rope? Is it displacement or real geo?

It's a displacement. The way I meant it was that if the character was inside the game, you could allow such a performance expensive effect for a cutscene (at LOD 0)

Polycounts for lead characters are pretty high these days. I would like to see the character optimized for an engine without displacement maps.
