Red/Green Flags of Art Tests?

Well, I just took 2 art tests in the span of 2 weeks and unfortunately, I was unable to progress to the next stage for both of them. This kind of reminded me of those cases where a company asked their candidates to do free work, like coding, and just declined to hire them anyway. I feel like there are companies that will issue these fraudulent art tests to get free assets. What are the red/green flags of an art test? Are there any cases where a company used an art test to get free assets from their candidates? Or am I just being paranoid?

For an established studio, I highly doubt it. The amount of feedback and iterations required to get a usable asset would negate any savings from disguising it as an art test.
