What is your average work day like as a 3D Environment Artist?

I'm currently developing some portfolio pieces to try and get into the industry as an environment artist and I was wondering what the average day would be like working in that particular field. I know this is a really open ended question as many people probably spend their work day very differently from one another despite working the same job, but I'd still like to hear it.

What is your personal work day like as a 3D Environment Artist?

    Depends a lot on what stage a project is at. The last time I was wearing an environment artist hat was about a year ago when we were building out a new map. I was in charge of producing all new env assets (we were a pretty small team at that point), in collaboration with the map builders and tech artist. Most of my day was what you'd expect - making assets as needed. Later on in the process there was more material work, variations of assets, optimization of LODs and collision. 
    Not sure how it would work with a team of 10 env artists - sounds relaxing :lol:
