Maya - any way to disable object selection on right mouse button marking menu? - Solved

SOLVED - if you hold CTRL while doing the change component RMB gesture, it won't select a new object
In Maya, if you have Object A selected and then do a RMB gesture to change component selection, any other object that is under the cursor will become selected.
Is there a way to disable this so that component mode is activated only for currently selected object? I feel that I saw some toggle for that before but I can't find anything now.
