EQ-Games (www.eq-games.com) has expanded to Midtown Atlanta and is looking for an experienced Art Director to help lead the development of a visual style and identity for our upcoming title made in Unreal Engine. The game features a high-fidelity realistic art style in a medieval setting. This job will be full-time and is an onsite or remote position. However, onsite is highly preferred.

As the Art Director, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining an Art Bible that establishes a cohesive look for the game, overseeing the overall direction of the art team, and ensuring that the game's visual style and quality meet our high standards. You will work closely with stakeholders from the development team and publishing team.

  • Create and maintain an Art Bible that outlines the game's visual direction, including style, color palette, lighting, and materials
  • Create concept art and storyboards to communicate the game's art direction and vision to the rest of the development team
  • Collaborate with the game design, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure that the art supports the gameplay and the overall product vision
  • Lead the art team, providing direction, guidance, and feedback on their work to ensure that it meets the game's visual standards and quality.
  • Ensure that all art assets are optimized for performance in Unreal Engine and meet the game's technical requirements.

  • Experience as an Art Director or Lead Artist on high-fidelity PC or console games, with a strong portfolio of work demonstrating your keen eye for visual style and ability to establish a cohesive art style
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine 4, with an understanding of its technical capabilities and limitations
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of artists to achieve the game's visual goals
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other members of the development team
  • Passion for medieval history, culture, and art, with a desire to create immersive and authentic game experiences
  • If you are a creative and passionate Art Director with experience working on medieval-themed games, and a proven track record of leading art teams to success, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
