[FULL-TIME - 3D Character Artist - ZA/UM Studio - Remote]
ZA/UM is a video game studio that in 2019 released the award-winning role-playing game Disco Elysium. The studio has offices in London and Brighton in the UK and Porto in Portugal. Currently, we are around 90 writers, artists, developers and producers from around the world.
You are a character artist with an eye for stylised design and interesting features. You bring a passion and understanding of modelling, character design and the creative pipeline. You’ll work closely with the art team to craft the cast of an immersive and stylish world.
Scope of work:
- Create characters based on concept to completion
- Work closely with our 2D character artists to realise the vibrant cast of characters
- Transform sketched and concepted works into high and low poly 3D models
- Produce textures and meshes for models
- Assist the creative team in world building
- Work closely with Art, Design, and Writing, to uphold Creative Direction
- Contribute to the creative process
Skills & Requirements:
- Knowledge of Blender, Zbrush, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter, or equivalent
- Ability to produce meshes suitable for animation
- Comfortable and accomplished at working with remote teams.
- Good sense of character design
