I sculpted this semi-stylised redhead last week. Would appreciate some feedback on the lighting and anatomy. Hair and skin shaders/materials are WIP. Thanks in advance :)
Put some work on nose bridge, mouth and chick. You can use anatomy references to nail the forms. Also look like some of hairs are penetrating in the head.
The overall proportions of the face could use a check. If you exaggerate the proportions for stylistic purposes, exaggerate more. Otherwise it looks like an error. Not sure if the The eyes are a bit too far apart. Usually the distance between the eyes is about one eye. The nose area between the eyes could use some more work (like mentioned on the previous post) - right now she looks more like a Klingon than a human :)
Google face anatomy and use ref images like the one here:
Also, her head is small compared to the shoulders.
Thanks for the feedback. Do you mean the cheek?
Thanks for the feedback.
I attached a orthographic frontal view of my mesh and removed the hair. It's in Viewport Shading (not rendered). The outlines of the box and lines around the head are actually anatomy reference guides. I used the 5 outline spheres as references for width of the head - each outline sphere is supposed to be the diameter of the eye.
The reference guides that I used were based on the anatomy references that you mentioned. Could you tell me if I'm interpreting them wrongly?
As far as I understand anatomy rules, the distance between the eyes is measured not by eyeballs but by the size of the visible part of the eye. In that case, the eyes can be a bit closer to each other:
Does this help?
Yea, that helps alot.
I think I've been measuring the proportions based on eyeball size instead of eye size.
Thanks alot for taking the time to point this out.
