I'm new to marmoset so this may be a very dumb question but is there a way for me to use refraction and subsurface scattering at the same time on the same shader? They are both under the transmission module so I wasn't sure if there was any possible way to select and use both.

It is not possible to use both modes, however, there is a scattering option in the refraction shader.
We are updating this in the next version to include a scattering map as well.
If you have two very different areas of your asset that need refraction and SSS respectively, ie: skin and glass, I would recommend applying unique materials to these areas so you can pick the appropriate shading model.
