Pipeline and Rigging Developer Job Description:
Sky Castle Studios is currently seeking a Pipeline and Rigging Developer (TD) with 2+ years of professional programming & rigging experience, including experience making tools for rigging, animation, or game/animation pipelines, experience skinning, and experience setting up rigs, IK/FK, and constraints.
- Work closely with Hero Forge’s internal art team to integrate and maintain Maya pipeline features and bring new 3D assets & features to the company’s online character builder.
- Assist with the production of 3D assets for the company’s website by developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Maya pipeline tools.
- Assist the art team with rigging tasks related to the development of new website assets as needed.
Pipeline and Rigging Developer Responsibilities:
In addition to the above, the Pipeline and Rigging Developer will…
- Design new Maya tools to support Hero Forge’s existing Maya pipeline, and periodically update and maintain the company’s existing Maya tools.
- Create new user interfaces (UI) and tools to assist the Hero Forge art team and work in partnership with the company’s programmers and art team to ensure the development of the best possible assets.
- Create video tutorials and other training documentation to demonstrate the use of various Maya tool features and assist with departmental training.
- Actively engage with the art team in collaborative discussions concerning technical approaches and problem solving.
Pipeline and Rigging Developer Job Requirements:
The Pipeline and Rigging Developer must have…
- Required: 2+ years experience in a production environment working on games, film, or television as a tools programmer, tools developer, or rigger.
- This is not an entry level position.
- Required: A comprehensive knowledge of Maya with demonstrable Maya rigging pipeline skills for mechanical and character preparation.
- Solid knowledge of rigging systems.
- Proficiency in Maya and Python.
- In-depth knowledge of FK/IK systems.
Preferred Skills for the Pipeline and Rigging Developer:
- Strong creative and technical abilities.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to be self-motivated.
- A love of tabletop roleplaying games is a plus!
