[Full Time] Character Art Generalist

We are looking for a Character Generalist to help us bring the Core Metaverse to life with exciting stylized characters. The goals of Core’s avatar editor are to enable expression and creativity and we need your help.
Do you enjoy working on the full range of task’s to make great characters come to life in Unreal Engine? Does your character art experience span multiple disciplines? This may be the job for you. Our headquarters are located in San Mateo, CA but this role can be fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Create stylized character art across the entire pipeline from block in model to Unreal Engine integration.
- Polish assets using your generalist 3D skills.
- Establish final looks for characters using Unreal Engine.
- Work with the team to keep the live product looking amazing.
- Take ownership of externally developed assets by integrating them into the pipeline.
Requirements
- Able to multitask and balance competing priorities.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in game development as an artist specializing in character modeling.
- Extremely proficient at Maya or 3DS Max, Photoshop, Zbrush, Substance Painter and Marmoset Toolbag 4.
- Exceptional understanding of Unreal Engine character development pipelines.
- Self-motivated, great communication skills, and a strong team-player attitude, proven problem solver.
Pluses
- Enjoy making prototype work.
- Skills in one or more related disciplines – illustration, animation, visual effects, and/or technical art.
- Have shipped a AAA, PC, or console title as a character artist using Unreal Engine.
- Fluency in NFTs, Crypto, Metaverse.
