Hey guys,
I am from india ,which means there arent much good schools to teach 3d for industry standards. Can anyone please suggest some good resources to learn environment Art in Maya,Unreal Etc. and what the workflow is all about. I see a hell lot of tutorials for blender, but realised it doesnt help much for industry standards. So please take some time to suggest some goo courses if out there. Thanks!

imo, the only thing better than course material from an instructor or workshop is a certification track through the software developer.
Just learn the base with Blender. Doesnt matter which tool you use in the first place. If you have a good understanding of the workflow its easy to learn an other tool if needed.
Well this doesnt help much.ahah. i mean
software developer?
"see a hell lot of tutorials for blender, but realised it doesnt help much for industry standards"
parroting sheer nonsense.
friends and senior artists I know of do work with FOSS on tent pole film and AAA game productions - heed oglu's advice, instead!
@Anirbandey928 more specifically i am eluding to developers of a DCC or digital content creation software. before game art degrees, software considered industry standard would offer tests that would certify users know the ins and outs of the program's features and grant a badge you can add to your resume. with a dig, i did find cert classes for Maya and 3dsMax but it would seem, these days, these courses are more directed toward educators or professionals using their CAD suites.
Epic has you covered for Unreal: https://dev.epicgames.com/community/learning?application=unreal_engine
pluralsight.com
cheapest resource I've found that can get you started (apart from youtube)
There's nothing wrong with blender - objectively speaking at least - but it's absolutely true to say that a large proportion of the blender based tutorials you see on youtube do not teach good practice. The problem with a low(free) bar to entry is that any idiot can set themself up as an expert and as a result there's a huge amount bad information out there
and
Vendor certification is a great way for a vendor to charge people money for a badge nobody gives a shit about because it's worthless.
"but it's absolutely true to say that a large proportion of the blender based tutorials you see on youtube do not teach good practice."
poopipe yeah I would absolutely agree.
YT content as an example can be a complete nightmare especially for those starting out trying to navigate and/or sift through chaff however the point of my comment, (...probably in hindsight was a tad hastily snapped off 🙄) veered toward universal application via any given DCC tool's feature set rather than by rote, following this or that workflow someone decided too upload.
Anyway, it's rare these days I'll seek a 'workaround' outside of people I've known for years who've published stuff on AS or gumroad, for a particularly fiddly issue.
