Hello there, so lately i've started working in substance which means baking, uv unwrapping, high poly to low poly etc. this whole thing is new to me. As my first "big" project i choosed fire hydrant. I had a lot of problem with baking maps, a lot of artifacts, mostly on cylinder parts of it, so i decided to make it little bit more high poly and used turbosmooth on low poly, anyway, im gonna send few pics here which shows model with and without normal map (in my opinion these parts of model looks better without normal map) and want to ask: what is happening? Something wrong with my LP/HP models? Since i turbosmooth low poly i don't even see that much of a difference between these two (besides floating details) so is there a point in making whole HP model and baking it? Also on the last picture you can see strange wavy patter (its smart material) what's and why is that? Thanks for all answears

Would be helpful to see your high poly and UVs 🙂
^ Quite certain it's to do with your UV's not being straightened/unoptimal, and a very sharp high poly.
