do not be discouraged. these pieces display you are very capable.
you have the right idea by showcasing each phase of the process as its own. strengthen each, by presenting its directive visually.
for example, a sheet of thumbnails may wish to say, "these thumbs are exploring interesting shapes". and a drawing is capable of communicating that with what is presented and what is muted.
Hey! I like the design, especially the sketches and flat colors! In my opinion flat colors (+ basic shading to describe shape) with additional info such as break downs, details and material references works fine to describe a design.
I think with rendered version the lighting/shading is too busy because and makes the large shapes less readable (think tube shaped legs and arms first, internal pattern second). If you want to improve in this area (goes into direction of illustration) it's about lighting and materials I'd say.
But yeah, I think the underlying design is cool! Keep it up 🙂
I thought I'd add my opinion, although I'm not really adding anything to what's been already said.
I think it's really nice to see the whole process, and good from a portfolio perspective too. And I personally like the drawings, they've got good proportions and lineart. The one thing I'd mention is that the final render doesn't read very well, there's too much noise (in the arms in particular).
Keep the strongest contrast where you want to draw the attention, maybe try a B/W filter on top to check your values 😉

thanks a lot for your comment :)
thank you for the compliments and your opinion :) I'll try to render in a clearer way next time.

But it's very good drawings nonetheless!
Thank you, I'll go for a better value study next time :)
