Currently im still modeling the spaceship and im just trying to match the reference best I can so if anyone has feedback on that it would be much appreciated.
Recently I’ve been working on the materials for the spaceship. I’m going to split the spaceship into different materials and use masks to reveal underlayers and add dirt etc. on top.
First though I’ve been creating some base materials, this is how they’re looking:
I think you nailed the modeling. I feel the bumpy parts look like plastic. Were you intentionally adding plastic on the outside? If so, would a ship ever use plastic on an exterior? Perhaps a more metallic look? Either way, I really like it :)
While it looks clean, I think the way you interpreted the concepts modules, curvature/angles and details makes the 3d model look less organic/more "low poly" and of smaller scale than the original design.
Details for bolts and the grating in front further strengthen the impression of small scale and less fit for space imo.
If you would like to rework the modules, I'd recommend to try more organic modeling. I imagine sculpting the large shapes/angles and retopo would also an option.
@nexussim thanks for the feedback, i was trying to think of different materials to have some material variation but yea plastic defiantly doesn’t makes sense, ill try come up with another material type:)
@Fabi_G thanks for the feedback thats super useful! I struggled matching the complex/organic shapes so sculpting them then retoping it might have been the way to go, depending on time ill definitely go back and update some pieces trying that workflow. And i think your right with the bolts but i wanted some smaller details so ill have to think of an alternative for these.

Any critique/opinions more than welcome.
Nice progress overall! The bumps on plastic are too strong I think. Keep it up!
