Hi artists,
i have received a model with udim's.
I had to detach and reattach certain pieces for rigging. (its a robot)
But by doing that, many uv shells start to overlap. What are the solutions of fixing this without rebaking and retexturing everything?
Please some help, im a bit lost here

UVs dont move if you detach polygons.
If you have moved the UVs just assign a different material or move them back.
thats right uv's dont move but because they use the same udim place when you attach they will overlap.

Ah so the robot had multiple sets of UDIM layouts? Like, the head used its own set, uncoordinated with the body's set?
I would edit suggest moving each layout into different UDIM ranges, then update the materials to point to the new range. Then there will be no overlaps.
If you want to merge UDIMs, then bake to a new UV.
