With the One World out of balance, you must traverse the True World and the Other World, as the Gemini God’s two worldly existences, to collect the fallen constellations of the Zodiac. Using all of the different Zodiac abilities, you solve puzzles to explore the ruins of the One World, and return it to harmony.

I present some beginning concepts of the playable character: Gemini!
Above are some silhouette thumbnail sketches of what the character could potentially look like.. 🤔
I took some of the more interesting silhouettes and added detail, but we decided on a more simple look in the end!

We left off on a cliffhanger - what will the main character look like?
Well here he is!
Gemini is the main character of the game, and will be playable in both versions of the One world and distinguishable due to colour variations! We also want the head piece to have a gradient of opacity like in the original chibi design as well as some cloak details :3
I wanted to explore the colour possibilities below first...
Take notice of the very cool rune/pattern details i added to the scarf and cloak! I'm undecided on which i like best... HELP! lol
The takeaway from the people around me was that the more vibrant colours were more popular, so i did some more colour studies! Favourites?
All in all, were still unsure.. We want the character to fit in with the world while standing out! Maybe the final colours will only be decided when the world design will come together?

So, Gemini will have abilities he'll be able to unlock.. and I drew up some quick motions for the look of the animation of each of these abilities 😆
There is a Charged jump (Libra)
A Directional Charge Attack (Aries)
A Shooting Ability (Sagittarius)
Im not sure about the logistics of charging/plunging into a breakable rock with your face and about the way Gemini looks when shooting.. but thats for future me to worry about LOL

Hey hey hey is me again uwu
I wanted to show off how I got to the stage of the final logo design!
Initially I wanted something that maybe encompassed the Gemini sign ♊️ and the idea of the two worlds... so i came up with these...
And I finalised one of the designs we liked....
But damn. It wasnt it. The genini sign looked more like a 2 than the the sign and the vibe was just so old fashioned looking...
Back to the drawing board!
I tried some looser and modern fonts, but nothing was sticking...
UNTIL!!!!!
I tried incorporating those runes from Gemini's clothes that i designed earlier - like with the squares and lines - and we liked it soooo much! I think it turned out so good!
I finalised it in indesign and voila!
The title logo :DD

I've been trying to make a 'picture' logo for the game 🤔
Initially i tried using the letters of the fonts to make like an overlapping logo...
But we weren't too into it...
I then tried incorporating the Gemini sign into it again... We like these more, but were still unsure about which one we like..

So! We were thinking of having a statue in the altars where Gemini is able to pick up and unlock new zodiac abilities.. and ive designed something!
We can later cut up the 3d model maybe and have it be a part of the ruins scattered nearby!
AND!! each zodiac sign can have a statue with different horns and the orb in between them will be corresponding to the zodiac altar it guards!
I can not wait to see your character in action.
How is the level coming on?
I have been TRYING my best to figure out the architecture of this world...
This one is the design of the spawn point Gemini Altar where the game begins...
(Left to right: Floating island with pillars and waterfalls spawn point, bridge, exit with statues guarding the exit)
I tried incorporating the rune design from the clothes within the architecture again, as always trying to tie everything in the world together contextually...
But it just seemed too intricate for a simple bridge, so i tried toning it down... Maybe a mix of these will work in 3D? Who knows...
What do you think? Do they work? no? yes? maybe?
Extra stuffs I did!
I was thinking about the potential crosshair design for the shooting and time stop abilities... I like the bottom right but maybe it maybe too bulky for the game?
I was also brainstorming some designs for the leading lights that will help the player know which direction to go in...
I think maybe the left is interesting but the weight ratio of the design is not it yet - I'll have to rework it for sure!
Thoughts?
I also sketched up some pillar designs for the altars.. im not sure how i feel about them but its just the beginning!

We Initially, for ease of testing, used the keyboard controls to move the character and use abilities.. BUT!!
I present to you, the new and improved controls!
I hope these controls will be comfortable to use!
Do you think anything should've been different?
I made a loading screen? But its just a 2d animation and frankly there was probably a way easier way of doing this animation in 3d.. And that would've probably made it able to be playable in correspondence to the loaded percentage...
I'd also like it if the animation were to continue and be 'erased' in the same way it appeared.
How can we do this?
I tried developing the Sky island architecture 🤔
Were thinking of making each part of the models separately so that they can be modularly assembled and thus give a lot more variety in architecture while not giving us a lot of work! YAY!

So! Jericho Posadas, another absolute UNIT of a KING, rigged and did a bit of animation of our Gem boy!
It looks SO GOOD!
I believe he used a plugin called kawaiiphysics to make the head piece flow in such a lovely way!
The cloak got a bit buggy..
BUT! He managed to fix the cape too!!!!
IT LOOKS SO PRETTYYYYY!!!!!

Here we have a little clothed turn around...
But the cloth simulation for the cloak isnt entirely what we want - It looks kind of rubbery and heavy and folds in weird places... and the bottom of the fabric is all warped
We want it too look more whimsical and light while simultaneously more stiff?
Kind of what you see in Journey mixed with a hint of Gris!

Maybe theres some sort of sim out there that will do this for us without us having to animate everything by hand!!

I designed some more architecture! This is for the altar where you will be able to redeem collectable stars and use them for unlocking constellations! It will also double as a portal to the Other world
You cans see here the bare bones of the altar... The stone in the middle (which may need to be bigger?) would be the portal - it would be nice if we could see the other world looking at it, but im being told that may be hard.. Ideas?
This is the constellation unlockable part of the altar, where you can attain zodiac abilities! Some of the 'particle cloth' is cut\torn making unlocking that designated zodiac impossible! But some are whole - these are the currently playable zodiac abilities! The Gemini zodiac's designated 'particle cloth' will be already ' unlocked (the ability to enter the two worlds)! Unlocked constellations will glow while locked ones will not!
Finally! You've seen these ladies here! There'll be 6 of them 'guarding' the altar of the Zodiacs!
