i am having a problem with the wood texture for the stock, picture number 1 shows the uv layout for the stock, triplaner mapping causes a visible mismatch in the grain direction shown in picture number 2, picture nmber 3 shows the uv projection for the same uv layout, i have tried to change the uv layout as shown in picture number 4, this solves the visible seam on the stock but causes the grain direction in the front of the stock to be diagonal as shown in picture number 5, i tried to straighten the front part of the uvs to better align the grain direction but this produces too much distortion, so can someone explain how i can solve this problem to get the wood grain to wrap around the stock?
