Custom panels in Photoshop

Does anyone know  a new way  of doing so?    There was  cool  "configurator"  years ago and I loved  custom panels with few  frequently used  tools and actions in Photoshop.  Not working anymore and neither of its  re-incarnations .      Is there anything new where I could put a few frequent  action buttons?

Well, there's Button Mode. Not sure if that's what you want.

Yeah , but when you have  100 of those buttons you  really want a  separate  small panel  with just a few frequently used.   It was what Adobe Configurator   had been designed  for till Adobe made it outdated.      Someone  rewrote it  and made available on Exchange  for $50 .    Tried it today.   Either not  working in current Photoshop
