What's Solaris /side fx ?

Could somebody explain in a few words please.   A new software?     I have no time to see  their one hour presentation.

Solaris is a lighting and layout solution inside Houdini. Its similar to Katana or Gaffer.

If you don't have time to google it or watch a presentation, it seems like you probably don't care about what it is anyway; the webpage explains it pretty well.

Well, not to me.  It's exactly why I am asking.   I  do need a lookdev and lighting soft with more or less realt time  visual feedback  preferably working with GPU render.   I use ClarisseFX currently and it takes ages to do final render there  . The word "lookdev" is what triggered my attention.   Could  it be a replacement for Clarisse where  Octane or Red shift world work?    it's standalone soft or just  extension for Houdini?

No Clarisse is faster. Solaris feels unfinished. And Karma is also slow.
