Our company (Robin Games, a VC-funded gaming studio in Los Angeles) is looking for an experienced Lead 3D Artist who specializes in modeling, texturing and rendering real-time props, furniture and environments in Unity for a video game. This is a remote, contract position (40 hours/week, 3+ months, $20-$30/h) for a talented artist who excels at creating environments and training junior artists.
Responsibilities:
Create photo-realistic furniture models, textures and environments in 3Ds Max and Unity
Develop methods, techniques, and best practices for environment creation using Substance Painter/Designer
Review, train and mentor junior artists to improve their work and processes
Improve the overall quality of our room environments
Skills and Experience:
3 years experience modeling/texturing hard-surface and organic props
2 years experience creating assets for a real-time game engine (Unity preferred)
2 years experience creating 3D environments
Modeling skills in 3Ds Max
Texturing skills in Substance Painter/Designer
Strong visual eye for environment composition, and experience with environment lighting/Unity Lightmapping
Strong written and spoken English communication skills as you’ll be working with an international team
