This is a personal project inspired by the Mimic concept found within the D&D 5E Monster Manual:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/mimicI created the initial model within Maya, blocking out the hard surface chest with the correct dimensions. From there I imported the model into ZBrush to being sculpting the more organic features, warping and blending the chest into the more monstrous shape. I continued by sculpting in new SubTools and increasing the levels of detail gradually using Dynamesh, ZRemesher and then dividing further.
In the future I plan to create a low poly version and texture, perhaps look into some minor rigging and animation. My next project will be an environment piece utilising the new features of UE5, such as Nanite and Lumen.https://www.artstation.com/artwork/ea8VQw
