Hi,
what would be the right way of making these mech parts?
first sculpt then modeling/topo or ?

    In his specific case, Subdiv modeling in XSI and CAD modeling in MOI3d.

    He has hours of video tutorials (paid and free) dating back to the early/mid 2010s showing his subdiv approach. As for MOI, it is extremely straightforward to figure out as one can learn all the basics in a few days.

    By the way, don't get confused : VB is of course an excellent modeller, but he is first and foremost a stellar designer. The quality of his designs doesn't come from knowing which button to click.
