Job Description:
- Creature concepting through to full asset delivery
- Creating bespoke human characters with specific likenesses
- Developing assets to work seamlessly within the shot pipeline
- Understanding and interpreting Art Department plans and conceptual illustrations
- Modelling:
- Scan clean-up and optimisation of supplied high resolution models ie. scans or photogrammetry
- Working with base meshes from software such as Character Creator or Mixamo
- From scratch modelling/sculpting
- Ensuring all models have clean topology, UVs and appropriate polycount for use, all optimized for real-time usage
- Cloth sculpting and prop creation
- Texturing:
- Texture creation (including all associated maps i.e. colour, normal) for high resolution assets
- Working with PBR texturing workflows to generate textures using image and procedural based techniques
- Lighting / LookDev / Layout:
- Creating asset turntables to present assets for client sign-off
- Look development and lighting of assets in Unreal Engine / Maya
Requirements:
- 3+ years production experience in a VFX, visualisation or games environment
- Strong creative eye for building high quality photorealistic assets with a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology
- Experience with Unreal Engine
- Comprehensive knowledge of Maya, zBrush, Substance Painter and Photoshop
- Team orientated and able to take direction from Supervisor
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Adaptable and flexible, and accepting of changes in a fast-paced environment
- Organized and able to work independently
- Experience with the following are desirable:
- Hair systems, creating custom grooms with Xgen
- Marvellous Designer and Character Creator
- Rigging
- Scripting (Python, Mel)
