I'm a junior 3D artist that recently graduated from college and currently just now seeking job opportunities. I recently got this email that was oddly sent directly to me from a supposed HR for this company called "Art Bully Productions LLC." I looked them up and they look legit, I assume it's some kind of outsourcing company that helps with all sorts of different projects from 3D to concept art and so on. Overall it seems really neat so far but as I kept reading it sounded a little too good to be true...
I'm not even in the industry (yet, I hope to be at some point) but even I don't see how I'm getting this offer because I'm too fresh out of the gate, still a lot to learn. Here's the email, I hope to get some feedback on whether this is legit or not? because if it is fake that's kind of messed up targeting newer artists emerging into this field. I'm also curious if anyone else has gotten something like this... I'm just not sure whether this email is an actual offer or scam.

**NOTE: I'm not going to put the name of the person who sent it just in case because I checked and they are a real person working there. But I assume this is someone posing as that person ( I don't know though). I have emailed the company but no response yet about this in particular.
** Not to mention, it says environment design and concept art? both of which I don't do exactly... this to me makes no sense at all.

It's not out of the ordinary for a company to contact artists directly, if your art looks good.
To determine if the email you got is legit, just contact Art Bully directly through their website and ask. They may indeed have a professional relationship with whomever emailed you. It sounds like you're doing this already.
Also check the sender's email address carefully, does it use their exact official address suffix?
@Eric Chadwick Oh yeah, when I googled the site it looks really good and I was super happy and surprised. However I'm just waiting to hear back from their support, It was the weekend when I emailed them so i'm not expecting it anytime soon.. I did check the senders address and it redirects to Art Bully soo... could be legit. Like I said to Sacboi, I've never seen an offer that involves texting a phrase to get started, but for all I know it could be real.

They'll ask you to use some messaging app, only to convince you to do some shady purchases. This has been going on for a few months. Of course they are not the person they claim they are.

But hey, at the end of the day that doesn't prevent you from contacting the real studio directly to apply !
Worse that can happen is I get denied, Improve over time and try again. No harm in that.
Seriously though, you have to think about managing peoples expectations. Everybody likes to see a person improve. If you see a person improve, you know they must be smart. But if they only see you once you are good, where will you go from there? They'll ask for too much.
So even if your work is hot kaka right now, make somebody know your name and then a year from now or whenever when they see you coming back but now your a big manly man they just wont be able to help themselves. "We have to hire that person, look how much they've improved. If they improved that much, just imagine how much more they could do."
They'll think that for sure.
