UE4 Alembic Hair Braids?

I'm wondering if anyone has achieved making of braids that work with physics simulation? I'm talking about long braids that swing with motion. It seems like the only way to preserve their shape and prevent them falling apart is to increase Bending Stiffness. But that makes the braids too stiff, obviously. Is there any trick to it? Or is the grooming system not capable of that (yet)?
