Hi, is it ok (and when) to have triangles when retopo is finished on the character? if it's ok to , can you tell me on which parts of the body it can contain tris and on which parts it can't?
its gameart. everything will be triangles in engine.
generally speaking you want a quadlike structure and if it is just for the sake of the rigging. selecting loops is just generally easier than handling a triangle soup.
you can just go on sketchfab or download ripped models from games and analyze them.
you will find triangles are pretty common, especially on parts that dont deform a lot if at all
