Does anyone remember the artist who used to post here and made very high end pixel art textures? I distinctly remember them showing off fighter jet and helicopter models from a xbox 360 game they worked on where despite using either 1024x1024 or 2048x2048 maps all the details were done with pixel art. It was incredibly detailed work, but I can't find it anymore and don't remember the artists name.

The artist I was thinking of posted here about 15 years ago back when the Xbox 360 was still being developed for, so probably not many users still left here that saw it.

Reading up on it agin in his original thread , he is achieving this look by baking from very simple highs and then scaling down the resulting textures by a factor of 8 (from 2048 down to 256). Really inspiring work.
