Hi everyone. I just finished a 3D model of mine based on a Grunt Goblin from Halo Wars 2 for a module in my university course for Games Art. I was just wondering if anyone could offer me any critique so I may improve next time?
The metal material is way too bumpy, and the line cuts and blue pattern on the front of the gun have very noticeable aliasing. The normals also seem to have some issues on the hands (shown in the last pic) which may have been caused by baking a non-triangulated mesh? Try using clean materials with just subtle roughness variations, if you can make a clean version look good then a grunge'y worn out version is just a matter of adding wear in places most likely to be scratched and dirt in crevices / areas it'd accumulate.
@PolyHertz Thank you for the advice! This module is currently ending but my new one which is portfolio will start next week so I have time to implement the changes you have suggested
