Occasionally, when I've worked on a piece for an extended period, tweaking here and there trying to "perfect" a pre-determined vision in the minds eye, I'll lose track of the composition in it's entirety. Therein, typically results missing certain irregular details that might be obvious to a fresh perspective which in this instance is readily apparent from both OP and ArtStaion posted images of the intersecting book pile, top too bottom.
A common artistic trait but one to be aware of for future reference.
Hmm I would call that a major amount of intersection, something that needs to be fixed asap. It kills realism/believability. A small amount is ok, like a car's tires into the pavement.
