Hey guys,
Long time no post in here but... I was coming back from time to time especilly for the 3D Art Showcase & Critiques and Technical Talk threads, lots of good stuff in there!
Since last year, I started to model and texture some weapons and learn more about them and I think I have achieved what I had in mind. I had a lot of fun making these weapons and I hope you like them. Here is a showcase video with all of them and some renders below.
If you want to see more renders check out my artstation.

As for the video, bro, I mean, top notch and all, but damn. You are putting some serious time into these things! For real, renders like this are more than awesome. https://cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/028/106/033/large/promesh-studio-pms-m12-007.jpg?1593502625
Gotta agree with algaib on the flickering stuff though. It's too distracting from the quality of the rest of the work. As a showcase for the work as portfolio piece, it is well done. As a showcase for the work as a product, it would help to showcase more of what a developer might want to achieve with your product, and how optimized that asset is. Wireframes, textures, ability to alter textures, how optimized it is for VR versus what you can get away with on a PS5 is all vital info in this market as a purchaser.
Keep it up! You offer a nice quality product here and hope it does very well for you.
@Firebert - Thank you for the feedback man, really good points. I will keep that in mind for the upcoming weapons....Thanks again:>
With that being said I'll be using this thread to post updates for the upcoming weapons.
Here is the latest one. High poly base done. Now I will start modeling some attachments.
Let me know what you think!
What would make this even better would be some wire shots...
Really good work so far, can't wait to see more.
@Toby3D - Thanks man!
More high poly work done for my custom AR.
More high poly work has been done since last time.
Added scope and mount.
Added classic iron sight, front handguard and buttstock.
Added a short version, bustock, handguard with suppressor and a new magazine.
Added new grip and flashlight attachment.
Added DBAL attachment.
Let me know what you think! Now I will start the low poly ) wish me good luck hehe.
Thanks!
Let me know what you think below. Thanks!
Just finished this piece and upload it to AS, hope you like it.

Thanks @sacboi, Ben is a badass, I really like his work. The wire for the high poly is just a mess since they are dynamesh meshes inside Zbrush and the low poly is just a bunch of triangles, but I can show some wireframe when I have some time.
Regarding the wear pattern on the stock, from the references I got there was no detail like I did on mine only the base look. I had to add some artistic feel to it because if I would do it as in real life it would look bland an boring.
Hi guys,
The 2nd variant for this gun is up. The receiver is almost the same, changed a bit the texturing and added the new name stamp.
Added the new handguard, buttstock, grip, magazine and a scout light.

Out of curiosity, why are they dynamesh meshes? Whats your process, dont tell me you model those from scratch in zBrush :O
hey @Komix ...dynamesh is used just for getting a dense high poly mesh so I can use polish to smooth out the hard edges resulted from boolean operations.
Just google boolean/dynamesh workflow. The workflow it's been out there for a couple of years now. The base high poly mesh was modeled in 3ds max.
phenomenal texturing, man!
Awesome work.
I want to update my thread with some guns that I did from my last post, so here are some renders from each of them and also a working progress kriss vector that I'm currently working on.
High poly and baked LP for the Kriss Vector with 2 handguards, 2 stocks, iron sights, scope, magazine and extended magazine.
- High
-Low
@kanga thanks man!
