Hey there guys,

Sorry for my ignorance but just a quick question...

if I’m looking to dip my toe in the NFT craze atm and produce a still image or animation render with UE4, Quixel, etc can I do this freely or will I need to make payments to Unreal for using their software?

Thanks in advance.

    The software itself? No.
Third party sources (models, materials etc.)? From what I know, producing NFT artwork falls under the same license regulations as producing more traditional commercial artwork.

But I haven't looked deep into NFTs yet, I'll let more experienced people to share their expertise.

Judging from the download page, NFTs would fall under the Creator's license, which doesn't come with the 5% royalty requirement as selling interactive media would.

Producing an *exe for the buyer to interact with would fall under the publishing license. Royalties don't kick in until after the first $1million anyways, so it should still be safe.
