PS Action Scripts - how to use chromatic aberration ATN file?

Hi I am trying to use this specific action (free download btw): https://www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/Lgq6/chromatic-aberrations-script-for-photoshop

But after I click play on the action I have to "apply transformation" by clicking the check box. But after doing so the filter reverts and I am left without the chromatic aberration.

Anyone know why this is happening? I can't seem to get this to work.

It could be the action was made in a different version of Photoshop. Actions are notoriously fickle and fragile.

I would suggest unchecking all the steps in it, then enable them one at a time, and running the Action each time. Basically, running it step by step. See where it breaks.

You could then re-record the step that breaks, deleting the broken one and replacing it with yours.

it is breaking at the merge action, I have never made an action. But I'll try it thanks
