How to uv map it so that texture curves along surface with minimal distortion, it's a flat surface, is it possible?

Install TexTools for Blender 2.9x series from here. Newest version is 1.4.2:
https://github.com/SavMartin/TexTools-Blender/releases
It includes a tool in the UV editor to rectify curved UV islands (to make them straight).
