How to delete/unlink geometry in 3ds max?

Hi,
i am trying to delete geometry in 3dsmax but nothing happens.
All started with importing FBX files, suddenly i couldn't import them with "import" option, so i googled a lil' bit and discovered i need to "link fbx" in order to import FBX. But that was really weird to me because it worked fine before with "import" option. And now i have a problem when i want to delete those linked fbx files nothing happens. I convert them into editable poly but still nothing. I googled and discovered i need to "unlink" them which i did and also nothing happens.
Any ideas that might work?

I would suggest you reset Max, and just drag-and-drop the FBX right into the viewport. If that doesn't work, the FBX might be malformed.
